We are happy to announce that we are the recipients of City of Hope’s Foothill Fitness Challenge Grant aimed at educating high school students on bike safety. Through a partnership with the City of Pomona, we will host a one day bike education event that will teach teens basic bike road safety, bike drills and how to feel confident riding on the road. League Cycling Instructors and curriculum will teach students the skills they need to ride to school more often and safely.
The event will be held at Garey High School 321 W Lexington Ave, Pomona, CA 91766 from 8am-12pm on Saturday September 27th. We are looking for super volunteers to help us in the following:
- Set up and help students get to their classroom; set up bike drill course; assist in handing out food and clean up
- Assist Instructors in teaching bike course and keeping students engaged
- Bike Repairs and assistance to the Ontario Wheelhouse
If you are that super volunteer, please sign up here and be part of this exciting opportunity in Pomona!
