call for volunteers

Hi everybody!
Here at Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition we rely on volunteers to do the great work of making cycling safer (and more fun) in the region. We’re currently seeking people who would like to get more involved in the planning and execution of events, outreach and education.
Below are a few areas we could really use your help with.
General call for volunteers

Outreach: We’d really like to step up our communications and outreach program. We’re looking for some social media savvy people to help share information about cycling in the Pomona Valley region. If you’re interested in helping out, even a little, let us know: Outreach

Education: The backbone of our coalition is making sure people are safe when cycling. What better way to do this than offer bike safety classes, create educational material and share helpful tips and tricks about biking safe. We’re looking for a few people to help expand our education programming. If you’d like to help make cycling safer in the region through our education program shoot us an email: Education

Advocacy: Interested in keeping up with and sharing current issues that impact cycling in the region? We’d love if you’d help us with current and upcoming legislation, bicycle master plans, infrastructure updates and calls to action . This is a critical part of improving cycling infrastructure in the region, if you’d like to lend a hand let us know: Advocacy

Got ideas?
PVBC is your bicycle coalition, let us know how we can make it even better! Have ideas for fun events, campaigns, fundraisers? Let us know! If you have any questions or comments don’t hesitate to contact us: Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition

Costumes are encouraged!

Bring water, a snack and a bicycle in good working order. This ride is FREE and open to anyone, but all participants should be able to ride a bike safely with the ability to brake, change gears, and balance while stopping and starting. All participants under 18 MUST wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian. Children under age 8 should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem or other safe child-carrying device to participate in the ride.

Volunteers needed to be ride marshals!
Help control traffic and lead everyone to the Pumpkin Patch Safely. Email us if you want to volunteer! pvalleybikes@gmail.com

Please note:
For the first time a small admission fee will be charged to enter the Festival.
Increasing crowds and costs in recent years have made it necessary to make this change to ensure attendees comfort and safety. Several new attractions have been added complimentary with admission making this an even better Family Fun Value!

Once inside the Festival gates you will notice that Pumpkins and most activities that have a charge will only accept activity tickets. These tickets will be sold both pre-sale and at the event from all ticket booths in $1 and $5 denominations. Activity tickets will not be accepted at the Farm Store or at most Food Vendors.

Tickets may be purchased pre-sale at the Farm Store or online: http://www.cpp.edu/~pumpkinfestival/#

But don’t worry PVBC will treat our riders and buy tickets for those who RSVP by October 7th (admission tickets, not activity tickets). Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can get a accurate number of tickets to buy from the farm, or feel free to purchase your tickets online.
