The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) is a membership-based nonprofit organization that works to make all communities in LA County healthy, safe, and fun places to ride a bike through advocacy, education, and outreach.

The Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition (PVBC) is a chapter of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) founded in March 2012. Our mission is to create better, more bike-able, and healthier streets for the residents in the Pomona Valley area and to empower both pedestrians and cyclists to make a positive impact and change in their local communities. We envision a healthier community where pedestrians and cyclists feel comfortable and secure on the streets, free of harm.

Pomona is ranked as the 18th most overweight/obese city in California and the 8th most overweight/obese city in Los Angeles County. Day One Pomona is currently working towards making Pomona a healthier city! Efforts include working with youth, residents and community partners to ensure the city makes healthy food available at city-sponsored events and meetings. We are also working to create more chances for physical activity and making the healthy choice the easy choice! Day One staff trains a group of youth to advocate for changes in their community and educate their peers and residents on how to make healthy choices and changes in their lives!
