We hope you’re as excited about Bike Month as we are! If you haven’t been riding your bike much lately we encourage you to use Bike Month as motivation to get back out there and ride. Take a trip to the store by bike instead of driving, take a casual bike ride around your neighborhood or join us on one of our upcoming rides.
If you’re a dedicated cyclist and ride all the time, we hope you’ll use Bike Month to encourage your friends and family to ride a bike this month. Sometimes the only thing stopping someone from riding a bike is a flat tire, maybe you can help a friend get back into riding just by fixing a flat!

Ride Around Pomona
Saturday, May 5th
Ride Around Pomona is a fun bicycle ride through the streets and neighborhoods of Pomona, the ride is family friendly and FREE!
“Riding with Louis” This week’s ride is to get to know Pomona Valley’s founding father Louis Phillips, the richest man of Los Angeles Country.
The ride is a casual pace, cyclists of all abilities are encouraged to join us. Ride and chat, meet new people, see new neighborhoods, get some exercise and enjoy the morning!
Meet at Shaun Diamond Plaza (Thomas Plaza), downtown Pomona at 8:30am.
The plaza is located at the intersection of Thomas St. and 2nd St., downtown Pomona (Across from the Glass House)
Town & Gown Ride
Friday, May 11th
Celebrate Bike Month with the Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition, Cal Poly Pomona Transportation Advisory Committee and others on the Town & Gown Ride, a casual 8 mile ride from Cal Poly Pomona to Ganesha Park and back.
Ride meets on the Cal Poly Pomona Campus at the corner of Oak Ln and Cypress Ln, in front of Police and Parking Services (Bldg 109)
Meet at Cal Poly Pomona at 10:00AM, ride leaves 10:15,
arrives Ganesha Park 11:30/noon and returns to Cal Poly Pomona approximately 1:30PM.
Riders must wear a helmet, have a bike in good working order, and sign a waiver in order to participate. Riders must follow all applicable traffic laws.
Bike to Work Day pit stop
Thursday, May 17th
Join us the morning of Thursday, May 17th at our annual Bike to Work Day pit stop!
The Local Bike Stand will be on hand providing free bicycle safety checks and minor adjustments.
In honor of National Bike month, Metrolink is offering free rides to people who take their bicycle on the train during bike to work week (the week of May 14th).
This year we’d like to invite other organizations to share in the fun. If your group is involved in bicycle advocacy, healthy living, environmental or sustainability efforts send us a message and let us know if you’d like to participate. pvalleybikes@gmail.com
