Saturday, May 2nd – 7pm

Bikes & Beer Ride

We’re celebrating May’s Bike Month with another Bikes & Beer Ride!
Starting at Downtown Pomona and biking to Sanctum Brewing Co.. We will be hanging out there for a bit and traveling back to The Rookery.
The route will be less than 3 miles one way. So anyone can do this!
Invite a friend and we’ll see you soon!

RIDE ON! Bike Day at Amoeba Hollywood

On Sunday, May 3 from noon to 4 p.m., Amoeba Hollywood is hosting RIDE ON! Bike Day at Amoeba in our Ivar parking lot, just down a half-block from the store.

 

Saturday, May 9

Educational Bicycle Workshop

University Cycling Coalition CPP and Pomona Valley Bike Coalition would like to invite you to an educational bicycle workshop hosted at Vic’s Bike Shop!
Instructors will teach basic bike safety skills to ensure that we are all riding more often and doing it safely. Learn how to properly adjust the fitting to your helmet, ABC Quick Check, and how to ride in traffic and safety precautions. Vic, the owner of the shop, will also be doing complimentary bike checks.

Good Samaritan Hospital’s Blessing of the Bicycles

Non-denominational event featuring religious leaders from different faiths, imparting blessings for cyclists. 8:00am – 9:30am @ 1225 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, California

 

Wednesday, May 13

Bike in Movie for Bike Week LA!

Curated by the amazing Ghost Bike Foundation is a whole evening of bicycle short films. Bike Shorts is about Bike Love in your community, city, yourself.
Join us in Marsh Park on the LA River, Wednesday May 13 at 8pm for an outdoor movie screening.

 

Thursday, May 14 – Bike to Work Day!

Bike to Work Day Pit Stop

Drop by Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition’s Bike to Work Day pit stop in Claremont for some healthy snacks, educational materials, free bicycle safety checks by JAX Bicycle Center, and other goodies! If you’re interested in helping set-up, hanging out, and distributing goodies let us know, the more the merrier! email us at pvalleybikes@gmail.com

Handlebar Happy Hour

After work join Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition for Handlebar Happy Hour! Come meet up with other cyclists and enjoy some food and drink at the Press Restaurant – the Press has happy hour Thursdays from 3:00pm to close.

Bike Night at Union Station

Join the bike community for a night of FUN. This is Bike Week LA’s second annual Bike Night held at Union Station. FREE BIKE GIVEAWAYS, TAP CARDS, T SHIRTS, BIKE LIGHTS, REFLECTORS, PATCH KITS, REPAIR, and MORE! The Lions will be setting the musical vibes! Come celebrate the accomplishments of cyclists and unwind into your weekend.
PLUS after Bike Night you can head over to Angel City Brewery for the bicycle after party they are throwing for us!

2015 Cucamonga Challenge

5K, 10K or 35-mile Bike ride

The Cucamonga Challenge is an annual event open to all ages and skill levels sponsored by the Friends of the Pacific Electric Trail to promote healthy & active lifestyles using the Pacific Electric Trail. Your registration is tax deductible and all proceeds go towards trail enhancements. Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition will be sharing a booth at the event with Viva la Bicycle, drop by and say hi!

 

Friday, May 22

Champion Bike Fest

Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition is teaming up with the Department of Public Health and Cardena’s Market to provide a fun and free bicycle event, including on site bicycle education and safety demonstrations, free health screenings, delicious and healthy recipes, a community bike ride and more! 3pm – 6pm at Cardena’s 2001 S. Sunday, May 31

CicLAvia Pasadena

Pasadena has played host to parades, bike races and music festivals, and for the first time is opening its streets to the largest car-free open streets event in America. CicLAvia – Pasadena Presented by Metro takes place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31.
